Expanding Your Practice Series Webinar: Understanding the Consequences of CSA
Date: Thursday, January 15, 2026
Time: 4:00pm-5:00pm ET
Location: Zoom
Overview:
Thinking of expanding your clinical practice and getting into medical-legal work in CSA?
In this first webinar we will explore how a safe and loving childhood protects our mental health and confers advantages in adulthood.
We will describe the consequences of CSA and how it impacts on our identity and beliefs about ourselves, our ability to regulate our emotions, our ability to form and maintain relationships and our expectations of others and how we will be treated.
We will explain the connection between CSA and formal mental health diagnoses and explain some of the common mental health problems that arise as a consequence of CSA. We will also
explore some of the factors that mitigate the impact of CSA.
There will be opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification about mental health jargon that may frequently appear on psychological assessments.
